March Massacre On Big Fish Charters

Capt. Tom’s Report – March 31, 2002

March has historically been one of our best months for cod fishing and this year was no exception. Lots of cod to almost 50lbs. pleased our customers with other Fish like haddock, Pollack and wolf fish as a bonus to the catch. All coolers were full at the end of the day.

Awesome April on Big Fish Charters

Capt. Tom's Report - April 30, 2002

Bent rods, sore arms and lots of cod, Pollack and wolf fish were the order of the day on trips to "Stellivogin Bank" this April. Most of the fish were 10-20 pounds with some bigger on most trips. Haddock pleased anglers on those trips that went east of "Stellivogin Bank".

Magnificent May on Big Fish Charters

Capt. Tom's Report - May 31, 2002

Huge schools of sand eels and leering moved into our area in May and brought lots of big cod, Pollack haddock, wolf fish and monk fish to our customers. Hump back whales and white-bellied dolphins pointed the location of the bait and big fish below it. We had cod to 48lbs. and lots of big wolf fish. Pollack showed up in greater numbers and there was plenty of haddock in the deeper water.

June On Big Fish Charters

Capt. Tom’s Report – June 30, 2002

Lots of big striped bass invaded Massachusetts Bay and Cape Cod Bay early this month to bring big smiles to our customers. Bass to 40lbs. were taken at Pace Pt. and at the H-Buoy. Cod fishing continued excellent with most Cod 10-20 lbs. and many 30lb and even 40lb - fish. Pollack, wolf fish and haddock were also about and made a nice mixed bay.

July on Big Fish Charters

Capt. Tom's Report - July 31, 2002

July starts the summer bite and lots of different fish begin to eat and be caught. Our 1st giant tuna of the season was caught on July 7th and we caught three in three days all from 650lbs. to almost 900lbs. School tuna began to bite and these fish were 50 to 200lbs. Sharks showed up in good numbers and our customers targeted Makos, Threshers, Porbeagles and blue sharks.

August on Big Fish Charters

Capt. Tom's Report - August 31, 2002

Both giant and School tuna were prime targets in August. Tuna were everywhere with huge schools busting all over the surface from 3 to 30 miles out. Most school tuna landed were 80lbs. to 200lbs. Shark fishing was great as was the cod fishing. Cod to over 50lbs. were landed this month with lots of giant Pollack, haddock and cusk to fill all coolers with nice white-meat fillets.

September on Big Fish Charters

Capt. Tom's Report - September 30, 2002

Tuna fishing was Red hot with both giant and school fish. Most trips were combination 1/2 day cod or 1/2 day shark and 1/2 day striped bass and blues. Thresher, blue and mako sharks were caught and cod fishing was excellent with lots of big haddock wolf fish and Pollack also caught. Most school tuna were 50lbs. to 250lbs. while striped bass were taken to over 40lbs.

October on Big Fish Charters

Capt. Tom's Report - October 31, 2002

October was one of the best months for huge giant tuna. Our biggest giant blue fin was 1,050lbs. Many school tuna were taken between 100 and 250lbs. on 50lb. standings gear. All sharks were biting and cod fishing continued excellent with fast action on cod, haddock, Pollack and wolf fish.
